Electrotherapy
Electrotherapy treatment for sports and other injuries’
Electrotherapy refers to the use of specialised machines which aim to reduce pain, improve muscle function and/or improve the healing of damaged soft tissue. At Modus Physiotherapy we have a number of electrotherapy machines including:
- Therapeutic Ultrasound
- Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS)
- Interferential therapy
- Muscle Stimulation
- Biofeedback Electromyography (EMG)
Electrotherapy modalities have short-term benefits that can assist with the earlier introduction of other longer lasting techniques such as exercise prescription.
All our therapists are trained in the effective use of each machine, and at times may loan a machine out to patients if their treatment plan requires it, free of charge. It’s all part of the ‘personal’ approach.
