Trigger point acupuncture
Fast and effective treatment for muscle pain
Along with acupuncture, many of our clinicians are qualified to carry out a more ‘western approach’, termed dry needling or trigger point acupuncture. If a muscle is in spasm, is painful or is simply being overworked, trigger point acupuncture can be used to encourage relaxation.
Trigger point acupuncture works by inserting a needle into the affected muscle until the muscle is felt to relax. It can have a quick result and often does not require the usual 20-30 minute treatment time. Conditions it is effective in treating include; strained muscles, muscle spasm, neck and back pain, hip pain and during post-surgery rehabilitation.
